How will this idea be used?
Enhance the existing polling interval in listening producer API to something more generic and usable to meet various customer scheduling capabilities. Even the current B2Bi scheduling capabilities are minimal and adding custom calendar etc., will help a lot of our customer base. Here are some of the RFE's from various customers to enhance the existing scheduling capabilities:
Need the ability to choose a custom protocol for both listening producer and listening consumer for a given file gateway partner. We cannot do both at the same time currently. (https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/forums/html/topic?id=453e46f8-a409-4142-bc69-3cfe0361adad - please check this URL it is the confirmation that it is not possible today). Customers need to create multiple partners to overcome this issue. It is not an ideal solution nor the best workaround, and moreover, it makes things very difficult to automate the partner on-boarding via PEM.
Ability to create and view the listening producer from sterling file gateway user interface. Today we have to use Rest API to create and view and it is not user friendly to use with custom protocol.
