Develop SEAS to intelligently query for IPs that come from a subnet and allow them in if that subnet is in an LDAP attribute

Why useful?

Useful because these days a lot of trading partners are coming from cloud environments that aren't front-ended by one (or a handful) IP address.

Who benefits?

Anyone who desires to whitelist IPs as a means of authentication or just as a security control

How would it work?

The person comes from anywhere in a subnet and SEAS queries the attribute in LDAP. SEAS then resolves the subnet to all possible IPs in that subnet and sees if the source is match to one of them. If they are a match, it passes that query and the user is allowed in.

This seems to be similar, but not the same as idea SSP-I-93.

How will this idea be used?

As trading partners migrate to cloud environments, this will allow them to continue to use passwordless authentication from those environments or prevent them from having to pay for costly development and force a static IP somehow from the cloud provider.

What is your industry? Banking
