Our clients prefer to have the EDI data wrapped on the screen. I have received many complaints about the current functionality, but most recently from Animal Supply Company. The default is unwrapped and the user needs to specify a character by which the data should be wrapped. They need to do this each time they want to view EDI data. Some of our clients live in InFlight, so this becomes an annoyance and the time adds up when they're viewing hundreds of documents. This request is asking for either an option in Preferences to Always Wrap EDI (Y/N).....OR.....to change the default to always wrap and allow the user to unwrap the data on the File Details screen. This request is also asking to change the logic behind the wrap. The user should not have to enter the character for EDI data. Instead, the logic should be looking at the applicable position or default character. For instance, the 106th position of an ISA header; the UNA6 of a UNA header; the apostrophe for UNB (if no UNA exists) or STX segments, etc. InFlight already wraps when it sees a carriage return/line feed, so most non-EDI data is already wrapped. However, it might be nice to continue to offer the option to wrap at a certain character for non-EDI data that does not have carriage returns or line feeds.
