Implementation, PER and Support teams receive BPN alerts when clients communication channel (Ex: FTP, SFTP) is down. However, clients are notified.
I agree that client should be responsible for any problem / failure on their respective sides. Yet, it would help if they get notified as well.
By doing so, we can alert them as soon as the communication channel goes down. This means we help to act faster, which inturn helps them in minimizing the delay of the business documents that were supposed to go via EDI. This will probably mitigate the risk and consequences too.
This should go in as a good value add.
I guess what will help is notifying them at a select frequency - May notification every two hours or notification 4 times a day, etc. Otherwise, the alerts may just spam their inbox.
