3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

PGP Adapter : Enable support for different Encryption , Signing & Compression Algorithm

The OpenPGP adapter does not support all of the latest set of Encryption , Signing & Compression Algorithm natively. Below are the list of supported values

Compression types (-COMALG) : ZLIB

Encryption Algorithm (-ENCALG ) : 3DES , RIJNDAEL256, CAST5,BLOWFISH ,RIJNDAEL

Signing Algorithm (-SIGALG ) : SHA1, MD5

However the latest of version of GnuPG, supports lot more secure signing and encryption algorithms.

CAMELLIA128, CAMELLIA192, CAMELLIA256

Compression: Uncompressed, ZIP, ZLIB, BZIP2

Passing any new values would cause the adapter to fail : (-ENCALG SHA256)

FAIL function aborted map:E01. -1004 Invalid signature algorithm was specified Encoding / Decoding failed to perform on the Data

This would make the PGP adapter more secure and allow customers to use the latest security standards.

    The Cipher adapter, added in v9, supports AES256. We have ZIP and GZIP adapters for compression, and the Hash function was added in version 10.1 this past November and supports SHA256 for mapping. We are considering SHA256 support in the OpenPGP adapter in a future release.
