Add an Admin ID for CD UNIX Installations

Currently CD UNIX can be installed under another ID. However, during a particular step of the installation process, the root password is required. Can an administrative ID be added to the CD UNIX installation that has the appropriate access needed to install the product? The UNIX administrator can add this ID prior to install and setup the appropriate access. The CD UNIX administrator can then run the install using the admin ID and not need the root password.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM.  I have reviewed it with my team who have been exploring alternatives to the user impersonation model that we currently leverage to gain access to file storage.  We do not believe that we'll be able to provide access to needed resources with this Administrative ID idea, but do hope to provide simpler alternatives moving forward.  I will also accept this request as an uncommitted candidate and will tie it to our broader user access goals so that you are informed when an enhancement is available.  Thank you very much for opening this enhancement request with us.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
