Red Hat Linux clustering/HA support

A number of clients ask about about HA solutions and clustering support for Connect:Direct with Red Hat Linux. I've had a search around, but only found the usual (old) docs on HA support with AIX/Solaris/HP-UX/Windows. I was trying to find something more specific regarding Red Hat HA/Clustering support. It's something a lot of customer have in use today, so why is it not on the list of supported HA environments?

It is still, in essence, a "do it yourself" job to configure CD in RH Clusters, with what appears to be limited support from IBM support. This request ties into the imminent IBM acquisition of Red Hat.

Can you please produce a how-to document, or better still, update the product documentation (which can be referenced) around the recommended, best-practice for setting up Connect:Direct as a HA solution on Red Hat Linux.

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

A company using RHEL today, wants to set up C:D on RHEL in a highly available manner, in support of their critical business processing. They have access to RHEL and all the HA features (HA Cluster Suite, etc) and want instructions on how to set up C:D on RHEL in the best way, that is supportable by IBM.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it with my team thoroughly, but unfortunately must decline it. We haven't seen enough interest from the broader market to create specific documentation to cover deployment on Red Hat clusters. We will likely look to update our existing cluster deployment guide to provide some guidance across varying cluster management systems however. Thank you for your patience as we reviewed this request and please don't hesitate to leverage this tool again in the future if you have other suggestions that we should consider.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
