Connect:Direct Application Interface for Java (CDAIJ) method for identifying a certificate that already exists in Secure+

Venafi Trust Protection Platform has built-in support for automating the lifecycle of certificates and keys for Connect:Direct Secure+ which it does using CDAIJ.  Currently it is possible to determine that a certificate already exists in Secure+ because an error is returned if we attempt to import it under a different name.  Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine the name of the existing certificate because that detail is not in the error message and no other methods exists which do so.  The following methods would help Venafi to improve our integration with Connect:Direct to the benefit of all mutual customers:

  1. The ability to identify the label of a certificate that already exists in the keystore when an attempt to add the same certificate fails
  2. The ability to list the labels of all certificates that exist in the keystore (keycert and trustedcert)
What is your industry? Non-Industry Specific
How will this idea be used?

To improve Venafi's integration with Connect:Direct to the benefit of all mutual customers, current and future.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM.  I have reviewed it with my team and believe this would be a valuable enhancement to Connect:Direct.  I will accept this request as an uncommitted candidate and we will look to add it to the C:D roadmap moving forward.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
