Currently, the only way you can provide a directory path when using out-of-the-box Connect:Direct functionality in Sterling File Gateway, is if you hard-code the path AND filename in the 'Remote File Name' field. C:D from the mainframe allows specification of a directory path. Other protocols, SFTP, FTPS, HTTP allow the selection of a directory path. C:D from SFG (of-of-the-box) should allow this as well. After working through Support, I was told the only way to get this functionality is by writing a custom BP.
How will this idea be used?
Not all C:D connections go to root directory. In scenarios where customers require file(s) be sent via C:D to a specific directory path, they would have this functionality out-of-the-box, without the need for customization/development.
