Include ability to specify CD properties overrides in customer_overrides.properties file
The following cdinterop files can be modified without stopping Sterling B2B Integrator because the changes take effect immediately. Therefore, you cannot use customer_overrides.properties to preserve them. Instead, save the file with a different name to create a backup:
As these are an exception to the standard, and cause anomalies in implementation standards, it is much more desirable to have them able to be included in the customer_overrides.properties file, without removing the ability for changes to the properties files themselves to take effect immediately, without restarting SFG.
The requirement to create and maintain a duplicate file, when changing any of the properties, is fraught with potential for losing those changes after the next patch or upgrade.
How will this idea be used?
During upgrades, SI will use the customer_overrides.properties file to keep customised configuration settings through upgrades . This is the case for majority parameters except the above cdinterop parameters.
When implemented this will make Production system upgrades easier for customers using CDSA as a communications protocol. This will allow customers to not need their own internal backup and restore procedures
