Currently SI reads in all messages from MQ into internal queues as fast as it can, regardless of how many BP's are already queued for processing.
If something goes wrong with SI and a restart is required, all the BP's that were processing will be in interrupted_man and require manual intervention.
Whenever this happens, the number of BP's is usually on the order of tens of thousands and the manual effort required for remediation is significant.
We would like an Async WebSphere MQ adapter that is aware of the lifecycle of BP's it has bootstrapped so that we can limit the number currently in an Active state at any time from any given adapter.
We're not interested in a synchronous adapter as we don't want the adapter to wait for each BP to complete before bootstrapping the next.
How will this idea be used?
We will use this feature to help prevent loss of data, tune performance and reduce risk for all parties involved.
