Right now when we go to do a self-signed certificate, we only have the option of SHA1withRSA and SHA256withRSA. We would like the ability to do elliptical curves like ECDHE_ECDSA as well. We use this tool for generating things like our ASISSLCert when creating a new install, as well as when we need to create a Map Test cert for SSL map testing. RSA is a fairly old standard and we'd like to be able to leverage the GUI in SI instead of having to go to openssl to generate these certs.
How will this idea be used?
After an upgrade or install, we have to generate a new ASISSLCert with the machine info. This option would allow us to do so with EC ciphers, so that we're more secure. Also, we can do the same with map test certificates.
