Support for Table and Index partitioning in SI SFG

Sterling File Gateway/Sterling Integrator database is subjected to huge DML operations resulting in fragmentation. The fragmentation in the system result in performance degradation and sometimes outages if left unmonitored leading to sever business impact. Ideal solution for fragmentation is table and index partitioning. But, we got to know that SFG/SI doesnt fully support table/index partitioning. Any partition related changes must be dropped before performing an upgrade/patches. This is really pain point as partitioning is ideally one time activity as it requires long downtime/effort. Request you to add support for table and index partitioning in SFG/SI so that it can persist accross application lifecycle along with resolving our issue.

    Thank you for particpating in the request for enhancement community. We have evaluated this request and are in agreement that paritioning will be beneficial to our product. Our long term strategy is to reduce the dependency on the RDMS, as we move more data to noSQL. Global Mailbox also can be leveraged in an Active/Active setup across 2 or more datacenters to reduce the I/O on a signle database.
    However, in the interim, we will explore what options we can take, as long as it does not affect the code and queries in the system. We do not see being able to support all this request, however, we aim to take steps in this direction. As such we have tentaitviely accepted this to our roadmap, and will provide updates as appropriate.
