Support for AS4 compatible with Peppol Network

Currently, there is no option in IBM B2B Sterling for AS4 to use directly without installing additional software, like IBM Advanced Communications, and in this case looks like the AS4 protocol used it's not by the standards of the Peppol network.

The Peppol network only accepts connections using AS4, so AS2 it's not an option, so we request if it's possible to add a solution directly in IBM B2B Sterling.

Have an integrated solution in IBM Sterling to be able to communicate using AS4 to the Peppol network, for our company be able to send messages to external companies that are using Peppol to communicate.

    Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. I truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations and ideas.

    I need a little more information to understand your idea.

    • do we need to implement the SMB/SML flows as well, or will the customer implementation/customizations handle it?

    • We would need these messages in the backend in order to address AS4 inbound and outbound flows with the Peppol network

    • We do have Peppol support today in our B2Bi SaaS solution, but that's because the SMB/SML components are already present in the network that can interact with B2BAC


    The answers above will help us plan our next iterations of AS4 support in our roadmap.

    Important to have AS4 on B2Bi on prem for connection to the French State for e-invoicing regulation. Needed by several BPs
