CreateNewAS2Relationship API - Request to disable adding additional user permissions to AS2 child mailboxes

There was a fix (IT40683) implemented in B2Bi v6.0.3.7 that was merged up through v6.1.1.3, then v6.1.2.2 impacting AS2 Relationships API /CreateNewAS2Relationship.

In patches before the fix, the execution time for the API was ~5 seconds (untuned). After the fix, the execution time exceeds 2 minutes (after tuning with L3). This is having a high impact on the integrated applications we have built that rely on these APIs.

The API creates two child submailboxes (/Inbound and /Outbound) to the partner root mailbox.

The user has the option to use a default mailbox hierarchy under a “AS2” root mailbox (“/AS2/<TradingPartnerName>/”) or allows you to specify your own root mailbox (eg. /<TradingPartnerName>).

We use the latter, as this is consistent with the mailbox structure created by FileGateway for other protocols, and allows us to offer our partners multi-protocol access to the gateway to access their files.

When using pre-existing mailbox parent, the fix to the API seems to running through some additional logic to add users to the child mailbox.
This results in high execution time while the api recursively loads groups/permissions for all users in order to identify the permissions to apply.

In our environment, no additional permissions are identified, and the resulting permissions are identical to those that are created before the fix.

IBM have stated that is it not possible to optimise the code to perform this function more efficiently.
We would like to request an option to NOT inherit the parent mailbox permissions. By default, this would mean only super-users/mailbox administrators have group permissions to the mailbox.

This operation should have the same performance as using the default parent mailbox. Where needed, we will add additional specific permissions to the mailbox for users that require it.
