Shape the future of IBM!
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.
Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notifications on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Add "receive" functionality to the Transfer a File option when using Connect Direct Web Services (CDWS)
Support MS windows 2019 clustered servers for CD Windows install
As, Enterprise is moving towards the recent MS windows available version, CD should support clustering on 2019. Per IBM Sterling Connect:Direct system requirements published link, Connect:Direct will support MS windows 2019 on standalone and do N...
Allowing command line editing of the CD File Agent configuration
There is a need within the Treasury to be able to script password changes to Connect Direct File Agents. Currently there is no documented way to accomplish this outside of using the GUI.
Increase PNUM limit to a much higher value (e.g. 1'000'000'000)
PNUM is actually limited to 99999 for most CD implementations. This is very low and has for effect that pnum can rotate very quickly. ICC is for example relying the grouping of CD events on this Process ID (which is a non sense as it's not unique,...
FileAgent - Windows .ser file cleartext
Have the Default_Config.ser or other .ser files clear text or similar.
Have C:D log the expiration date of certificates it receives
Today, when C:D calls out to a remote server, it logs some details about the certificate it received. It would be nice if it also logged the expiration date. This would allow us to write, say, a Perl script to scan the logs once a day looking fo...

Enable Transfer of Entire USS Directory via C:D z/OS
Sending Unix files on Z via C:D is tedious at best. I'd like for Connect:Direct to at least be on par with FTP functionality-wise if I'm going to try to convince users that it's in fact the better choice. C:D needs to be able to transfer an entire...
Connect Direct File Agent: Add a search function to search on File Agent rule names
Please add a search feature for File Agent so if we know the File Agent rule name, we can search on it and then select. This would easier than using the scroll bar or using the wheel on the mouse especially if a File Agent configuration has numer...
Audit Log for File Agent
Please add an audit log to Connect Direct File Agent. Preferably, this audit log would track all changes made to a File Agent configuration. This would include all items on the File Agent tab to include watched directories, etc. It would also i...
