Shape the future of IBM!
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.
Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notifications on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
Improve debug capabilities on failed maps
When a map is deployed and fails translation, it is very difficult to find out the reason of the failure. A clear report on what has been the failure, as the Translation service of SterlingB2B Integrator, that includes type or error, iteration cou...
referenced TypeTree (parts)
You can build one TypeTree or one strucutre and can use it for example as part of choice-group in another TypeTree. Everybody that use TypeTree as a kind of central unit and have to reuse these structures in other interfaces will benefit.
A script to identify & package a Launcher/CS/API core and dependant libraries, allowing for remote core analysis on Linux
In order to analyse a Linux core file on IBM lab machines, we need to gather & package all shared libs (included OS) from the system. A script that finds out all loaded DLLs from the core and packages them is needed. We don't have such a scri...
Clean the map cache without restarting launcher
Today every time we need to change a map in launcher environment the launcher has to be restarted because the maps are cached there. It doesn't matter if the maps are used directly in the flow or ran by RUN function. For High Availability productio...

The current Oracle Adapter has the following restriction: columns with datatype BLOB can be used on input/output cards only. It's not possible to use them in DBQUERY/DBLOOKUP commands due to string restrictions that are caused by the fundamental a...
Functions to get internal information from within a running map
For logging/tracing purposes I'd like to be able to get actual information about the mapping/card/function/field I'm currently at.
So I can write into a logging about that particular point in the execution.
A bit like LASTERRORCODE() or GETRESOU...
Connection manager changes
Currently the connection manager is single threaded over the entire launcher or on an execution group in message broker. one bad server slows everything down as a result. it would be better to make it single threaded over a particular hostname
The V10 WebUI should have impact anlaysis
Since ITX projects are storing artifacts (maps, schemas, connections, variablets) it 'knows' which maps use which schemas, etc.
It would be very useful to be able to do impact analysis. How many maps use a schema? How many places is a variable ...
Having a possibility to do use regular expressions would be nice
It regularly happens that WTX has to apply regular expressions, and at the moment this needs to write eiher an external function (which in turn involves adding C development to the projects) or Java (which requires using JEXIT + possibly adding Ja...
Change current directory in ITX 9
Change current directory from <install_dir>/logs to msl directory.
